Design - 14 - Susan Kare Icon
Something I've been meaning to look into for awhile now is Susan Kare's work. Susan Kare created many of the icons that origniated on the original Macintosh and has even moved on to do work for Microsoft and other companies.
Back when she created these icons she was limited to a very small scale and palette. Susan is a good source to look back to if you're trying to create something simplistic that still gets the points across as to what that object is.
